DESCRIPTION: This piece is a vessel with pedestal all carved from one large Cherry log.  It evokes a feeling of reaching up as in an expression of joy. The parallel grain waving with the form conjures images of ribbon candy. The contrasting sapwood defines the all-important edge separating the outside from the inside.
